Business Advisory Committee to meet again on Nov. 17

Uncertainty over the duration of the ongoing session of Legislature continues as the Business Advisory Committee of the Legislature has decided to meet again on November 17 to finalise the course of action.

The BAC, which met here on Tuesday after the adjournment of proceedings for the day, could not arrive at a consensus on the number of days the House would be in session. Speaker S. Madhusudana Chary convened the meeting of the BAC following requests from the members, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi in particular, who criticised the Treasury Benches for continuing the session without finalising the schedule and prioritising the agenda.

Coming in this backdrop, the meeting discussed the issues to be taken up in the coming days. It was decided to ensure that all the queries raised by the members secured replies from the Treasury Benches and the Speaker is also understood to have accepted the Opposition parties’ demand to give opportunity to members whenever they wanted to raise issues of public interest.
