SFI activists staged a protest in front of the officer of the District Educational Officer here on Thursday demanding filling up of the vacant posts of teachers in all the Government and Zilla Parishad schools. The demonstrators squatted at the entrance of the DEO’s office demanding immediate steps to take up the teachers’ recruitment process. Addressing the demonstration, the SFI leaders alleged that over 670 posts of teachers were lying vacant in the State-run schools across the district for long.

They deplored that the State-run high school at Chimmapudi in Raghunadhapalem mandal was functioning without full-time English and Mathematics teachers. They demanded that the government ensure adequate teachers in all the State-run schools to motivate people join their wards in government schools.

They submitted a petition to the authorities of the School Education Department seeking prompt solution to their long pending demand.
