Demand for upgradation of Ramagundam B thermal station

Telangana State Police Housing Corporation Chairman Koleti Damodar has urged the TS Genco to upgrade the 62.5 MWs Ramagundam B Thermal power station into the 1,600 MW power station to produce the power to meet the growing demand in the State. Mr. Damodar met TS Genco Chairman and Managing Director D. Prabhakar Rao in Hyderabad and submitted a memorandum in this regard on Tuesday. Following the reports about the Central electricity authority planning to demolish the oldest thermal power station in Ramagundam, he urged the Genco authorities to upgrade the existing power station to 1,600 MWs as there was abundance of natural resources such as water, coal and land for the project.
