Dawn deal: candidates woo morning-walkers

Campaign at LMD reservoir shores, Ambedkar stadium, college grounds

Candidates contesting in the upcoming assembly elections are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to garner support of the voters. All major contestants are now getting up early to ‘catch’ the morning walkers, at the municipal parks and other public places.

New look

Instead of the traditional attire of politicians, candidates are arriving in track suits, tees and shoes to launch their campaign at the crack of the dawn, and walking along with the walkers and talking about their developmental plans.

These informal conversations require microphones or any preparations, as these candidates walk the talk with the voters.

TPCC working president and candidate from Karimnagar assembly segment Ponnam Prabhakar, who is a regular walker in various parks for a long time now, was the first to kick-off the electioneering in the parks. On Monday, he, along with MLC T. Santosh Kumar, began canvassing at the Markfed lands walking area at Padmanagar.

TRS candidate and former legislator Gangula Kamalakar is also campaigning in the parks along with the morning walkers. He is seen chatting with the walkers and sipping hot tea. Special gruels were also served at various walking places in the town.

BJP candidate Bandi Sanjay Kumar went a step ahead and even started exercising along with the walkers in various parks.

Candidates have been covering all the public places such as shores of LMD reservoir, Ambedkar stadium, Helipad park, Arts college grounds, Womens’ college grounds, SRR college grounds, Satavahana University, Markfed grounds, among others.
