To serve as an alternative to Gough Road

Alignment proposals for construction of roads and fly-overs as an alternative to Gough Road in Secunderabad Cantonment area should be prepared by the Committee of Civil and Defence Officers within 15 days, said Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi here on Friday.

Gough Road connects AOC Circle to Neredmet and the Army had announced the road closure to civilian traffic two years ago citing security issues and restriction of troop movement as reasons for cordoning off AOC and few other roads in Secunderabad cantonment.

Mr. Joshi held a meeting to review the issues related to Gough Road, Field Firing Range and Military land issues at the Secretariat with Telangana, Andhra Sub-Area, General Officer Commanding Major General N. Srinivasa Rao, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar, R&B Principal Secretary Sunil Sharma, Medchal District Collector M.V. Reddy, GHMC Additional Commissioner Bharathi Hollikeri, Cantonment Board CEO S.V.R. Chandrasekhar and others military and government department officers.

Mutually beneficial
