Criminal case against Punjagutta SI

A criminal case was registered against Punjagutta police station Sub-Inspector Mahender Reddy on Tuesday on the charge of duping a woman.

An SI of the 2010 batch, Mr. Reddy reportedly fell in love with one of his classmates while pursuing MBA programme. The woman, a Dalit, alleged that Mr. Reddy had promised to marry her. She claimed that he had got his marriage fixed with another woman a month ago.

The woman approached the Central Crime Station sleuths who registered a case under the Prevention of Atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Tribes Act.
