Much like the strategy of their counterparts in Delhi elections, the local Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) members plan to highlight constituency level issues and at the same time target inefficient or corrupt leaders of various parties.
At a press meet organised by the party on Saturday, the recently announced Parliament candidates from the state said they are confident of a good show due to the support of youth and the middle class.
A national-level child rights activist of more than 20 years, Chevella candidate R. Venkat Reddy said that his primary aim was to expose family politics existing in the region. “It is not just the people but even grassroot workers of other political parties are opposing family politics here. The youngsters are extending support to us in the hope of seeing an alternative party like ours win. We will undertake door- to-door campaign soon to tell people that we are for decentralisation of power.”

According to Mr. Reddy, the sectors that need immediate attention in the constituency are irrigation, health and education.
Actor, writer and social activist Chandana Chakrabarti who is the Malkajgiri candidate said that issues like bad roads, traffic issues, water tank mafia and electricity problems need immediate attention. “The flyover which had to come up in Neredmet is still pending. Many such projects are pending because of which people are suffering,” she said.
She also informed that she will soon undertake unique campaigning to attract voters.

Secunderabad candidate and retired IAS officer Chaya Ratan said that AAP’s ideology will strike a chord with the people of the constituency as they desperately are seeking a change.
