The vehicle was last traced near Khajaguda after which the footage were not available. Based on the available clues, the police have stepped up the investigation to the nab the culprit.

Confirming this to The Hindu , a top police official of Cyberabad said they suspect the involvement of a young woman in the murder and the case is as good as solved. “We gathered clues showing that the murder took place in Siddique Nagar or Anjaiah Nagar, and from there, the body was dumped near Botanical Garden,” the officer said.

Police said the bike without a front mud guard was suspected to have been used for the offence. “At 3.42 a.m., they dumped the bags near Botanical garden. At 3.48 a.m., the bike was spotted on Masjid Banda Road before the suspects rode on to Gachibowli flyover. We suspect they turned right at Khajaguda junction and disappeared from camera view,” the investigators said.

The police on Sunday launched a massive manhunt for the suspect in the adjoining areas of Botanical Garden, including Anjaiah Nagar and Siddique Nagar, in the hope of apprehending him, but it proved futile.

“During the search operation, over 200 cops interacted with around 500 people and surprisingly, no one identified the victim or the culprit. But we are sure that the murder took place in that locality.” a cop said.

Earlier, police suspected that the gunny bags had been dropped from a car.
