Co-operative society manager arrested

The Vanasthalipuram police on Friday arrested branch manager of the Avani Multi-State Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society, Ramakrishna, on cheating charge.

A member of the society, Satyanarayana Reddy, lodged a complaint with the police stating that the society was not releasing his fixed deposit of Rs. 5 lakh even after maturity period. “He charged that the society manager had failed to return his money though the maturity period was over three months ago. He was worried as the society office had remained closed for some days,” Vanasathalipuram Inspector S. Murali Krishna said. Based on Mr Reddy’s complaint, a cheating case was registered.
