Construction waste recycling plants soon

Government issued orders on Wednesday, sanctioning recycling plants of construction and demolition waste, in Fathullahguda and Jeedimetla.

The plants are being set up in line with the Central Government’s Construction and Demolition Waste Management Rules, 2016, and the tender has already been issued to Ramky Enviro Engineers Limited.

With the construction of this plant, the city will be the fourth in the country to set up such plant, after Delhi, Ahmedabad and Nagpur, a press release from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation informed.

The order has finalised ₹342 per metric tonne as the tipping charges for shifting the C&D waste. Of the 4,500 MT of waste generated in the city, C&D waste constitutes 450 tonnes.
