‘Well-received campaigns can’t go wrong: Padmavati Reddy

Expressing doubts over electronic voting machines, like in the State Assembly election results in December 2018, runner-up and Congress candidate N. Padmavati Reddy opined that the devices were managed to make victory favourable for the ruling TRS.

"My suspicion started with the first round when TRS candidate got a two-thousand-plus majority. But Independent candidates in many rounds got zeroes, whereas they were expecting votes from friends and family. A representation is submitted to the RO," she said.

Justifying her claim that Telangana Rashtra Samithi government was facing anti-incumbency for several failed promises, including strikes by the TSRTC, Ms. Padmavati Reddy said development by Congress in Huzurnagar, and the well-received campaigns can not go wrong.

"I believed and wanted democracy to win, and Huzurnagar was a good opportunity. That's why I am very sad with today’s result," she said.

Ms. Padamvati Reddy thanked her voters and said she would discuss with party leaders and decide the future course of action.
