Conference on civil society’s role

January 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The Hyderabad Mahila Suraksha Samithi has accused the Censor Board of being lenient on television shows and films that depict women as an object of sex and said such attitude was leading to attacks on women despite strong laws.

They were not even stopping children being used in obscene dances in the name of talent shows.

To highlight such issues the Samithi is holding a conference on January 30 and also to question the lenience from the Government organisations as well as the society, said the Samithi Chairman, T. Gourishanker and convenor, Ch. Pramila.
