The Regional Passport Office (RPO), Hyderabad, takes pride in having the fastest average time for police verification in the country with the process taking only five days or less.
The RPO Hyderabad, E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, said last year the RPO was recognised as the most efficient passport office in public grievance redressal too. It also was declared the best passport granting office in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
Last year, the RPO Hyderabad received 6,64,991 applications of which 6,49,805 passports were issued.

In 2015, it granted 7,25,976 passports of the 7,37,301 applications that it received.
Mr. Reddy said that passport operations would soon start in Warangal and Mahabubnagar with the sanctioning of Post Office PSKs. In Andhra Pradesh, Kurnool and Kadapa districts would have the POPSK facility. He said India stands third in issuance of passports in the world with China and the U.S.A. taking the top two places. Earlier, he inaugurated a passport camp for journalists at PSK Begumpet, organised by Press Club Hyderabad.
More than 700 journalists and their family members participated.
