Telugu film industry’s mega star Chiranjeevi was the top trending South Indian actor on Google for 2018.

As the search engine released its top trends for the year, actor Chiranjeevi, whose last film Khaidi No. 150 released in 2017, remained top of the chart in the ‘Top Trending South Indian movie stars-2018’ category. The actor was followed by actors Nani, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Vijay Deverakonda, Rashmika Mandanna, Anasuya Bharradwaj, Prakash Raj, Mohan Babu, Jagapati Babu and Naga Shaurya, in that order.

Telugu films topped the chart in other Google trends in South India, including Top Trending South Indian Movies and Top Trending South Indian Songs of 2018.

In Top Trending South Indian Songs-2018, Vaaru Veeru from the Nagarjuna-starrer Devdas topped the list. Maate Vinaduga, a popular song from the film Taxiwaala, took the second position among top trends in that category. My World Is Flying from the film ‘Hello Guru Prema Kosame’ was placed third. Other songs which followed were Inkem Inkem Kaavale, Ninnu Road Meeda, The Karma Theme, Peniviti, Padi Padi Leche Manasu, Yenti Yenti and Shailaja Reddy Alludu Choode.

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer Geetha Govindam directed by Parasuram was the top trending South Indian Movie of this year. However, Tamil film Sarkar, starring Joseph Vijay and directed by A.R. Murugadoss, bagged the second position in this category. Rangasthalam was the third top trending movie. Other films including Bharat Ane Nenu, Kaala, Robot 2.0, Mahanati, Krishnarjuna Yudham, Vishwaroppam 2 and Oru Adaar Love bagged the rest of the top 10 stops in the category.

Google top trends are determined by top searches made by the search engine’s users each year.
