Chintalkunta underpass set for launch

The road underpass near Chintalkunta of L.B. Nagar will be the third project to be launched as part of the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) by GHMC, when it will be thrown open to vehicles on Tuesday after being inaugurated by Minister K.T. Rama Rao.

The 540-metre underpass is expected to facilitate free flow of traffic from Sagar Ring Road towards Vijayawada, a press statement from GHMC said. A total of 112 metres is closed box of the underpass, while 428 metres is approach road. It has been built with an expenditure of ₹12.7 crore.

The underpass is part of the works for flyovers, underpasses and grade separators at five junctions near L.B.Nagar, namely, L. B.Nagar junction, Kamineni Junction, Chintalkunta Junction, Bairamalguda Junction, and Nagole Junction, with an expenditure of ₹448 crore.
