Bakrid or Eid-ul-Adha, the festival of sacrifice for the Islam faithful, was celebrated with religious fervour in the city on Saturday.

Prayers were offered in various Idgahs and mosques across the city and people congregated in large numbers near the places of worship.

Prayers were followed by feasts with near and dear and visits to friends and relatives. Prices of sheep came down considerably by Friday evening, and butchers came down from other districts too to make the most of the festival.
