The State government has made elaborate arrangements for the State Formation Day on June 2.
In addition to cultural and other events, para-motoring, an aviation sport, would be the highlight of the celebrations. The event, to be held from June 3 to 5 at Bison Polo Grounds, features flag towing, flower shower and joy rides, Tourism Minister Ajmira Chandulal said.
Cultural troupes comprising 1,000 artistes would participate in the Kala Jatha being organised from Lumbini Park to People’s Plaza on the occasion. The government has organised a food festival at the same venue, while the exhibition of 3-D maps of historic structures is being organised at State Art Gallery. Awards would be presented to selected people for their contribution to their respective fields at Ravindra Bharathi. The Minister, who launched the brochure of para-motoring along with Tourism Secretary B. Venkatesham here on Thursday, said ten expert pilots, who represented the country in the World Para-Motoring Championship in Thailand, have been drafted for the conduct of the show. The Tourism Department has also decided to facilitate joy rides for people priced at ₹2,500.

Adventure sport enthusiasts, aviation lovers, students and youth could experience para-motoring as part of the celebrations. There is no age bar for the joy rides and those interested can take a ride anytime from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day for the three days.
