Another religious place desecrated

In yet another incident, unidentified persons desecrated a religious place at Moghalpura on Wednesday night triggering tension in the locality.

The incident came to light when locals noticed meat thrown on the premises of the religious place and alerted the police who rushed to the spot and pacified the irate residents after cleaning the premises. Senior BJP leaders led by Bandaru Dattatreya met DCP (South) Manish Kumar Sinha and requested him to take stern action against the culprits.

Meanwhile, no untoward incidents were reported when the day curfew was relaxed in riot-hit Madannapet and Saidabad police station limits on Thursday.

Mr. Sinha said the situation was peaceful in the old city and its surroundings.

Curfew relaxed

Meanwhile, The police also decided to relax the curfew from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Madannapet and Saidabad areas on Friday.

The police imposed restrictions on conduct of public meetings and processions in the twin cities from 6 a.m. on April 12 to 6 a.m. on April 18.

Use of swords, sticks with or without flags, explosives and other weapons were also prohibited along with use of public address systems.
