Amazon is gearing up to woo smartphone customers with new launches, easy finance schemes and flash sales as well as exchange offers this festive season.
Besides being upbeat over smartphone sales continuing to be one of the fastest growing product categories, the e-commerce major also expects Telangana to remain one of its key markets.
“Telangana is one of the important markets among the top 10 States and is growing in terms of smartphone sales,” Nishant Sardana, category leader-smartphones and consumer electronics of Amazon India, told presspersons here on Thursday.

Noting that around 40% of the estimated annual sales of 144 million smartphones were sold online, he said more and more people were preferring to purchase the handsets online.
For Amazon, the success seen in its smartphone category is on account of a focus on offering the customers a wide range of choice – 2,500 models with around 250 of them exclusively available on the online marketplace – and a variety of finance schemes, including no cost EMI and Amazon Pay EMI.
Stating that the festival season would extend over 30 days starting next month, he said Amazon was planning special offers to further push smartphone sales.
