HYDERABAD: Artificial intelligence and advance technology could be a facilitator but cannot become a substitute for human intelligence, said Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan.
Speaking to a delegation of students from the Indian Institute of Technology (Kanpur) and Delhi here on Wednesday, he told them that in the name of technology, people should not stop using their brain power. Their projects should have societal relevance and utility too, he said.
Mr. Narasimhan said agriculture, health, energy and education should be given priority. Also, students should focus on building miniature solar panels and on how to overcome shortage of facilities and nano-technology. Students could focus on problems faced by people like drinking water shortage and how sea water could be treated and made fit for drinking.

The students told the Governor that they were pursuing their goals to set up Start Up ventures with the help of innovative technologies and wished to generate employment and be a part of the Start Up revolution in the country. They also informed him that they would be entrepreneurs rather than seek employment.
