Pratt and Whitney in collaboration with KGNMT funds construction of a residential building

Pratt and Whitney, a unit of United Technologies Corporation (UTC) in collaboration with Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust (KGNMT) has funded the construction of a residential building for underprivileged girls, which was inaugurated recently in Hydershakote.

Constructed at a cost of Rs. 67,05,000

The residential building, constructed at a cost of Rs. 67,05,000, is equipped with furnished dormitories, a study centre, e-learning centre, playground and other mandatory environmental-friendly features, a press release said.

Study resources to excel

The residence will provide local, elementary-age needy girls with a modern home and study resources to help them excel in their education.

The facility’s e-learning centre will give the children access to online educational resources, while its environmentally-friendly features, such as a solar water heater and kitchen garden, is expected to foster self-sufficiency.
