Zumba, a high-energy and calorie-burning dance fitness programme was launched by Dinaz Vervatwala at her studio in Somajiguda on Saturday.

Choreographed to Latin and international beats, the Zumba fitness craze is now the hottest trend, according to a press release from the Dinaz's Fitness Studio Private Limited here. It said that an hour's Zumba dance could help reduce 500 to 800 calories, making it one of the most effective ways to lose weight. Participants attending the classes can have fun and at the same time, burn their excess calories. The dance moves are inspired by the Latin styles like Salsa, Flamenco, Merengue and to contagious international music created by Grammy Award-winning producers.

“This fitness program has found universal appeal because there is no bar on age. The moves are easy to perform and even a novice can follow them,” said Ms. Dinaz, who underwent Zumba instructor training course two months ago.
