2 RTC employees nabbed for harassing woman

Two employees of APSRTC one in his mid 40s and another aged 25 years, were caught by the Cyberabad police on Wednesday while they were sexually harassing a woman at a bus-stop in Miyapur passing lewd comments.

Members of SHE team, formed recently by police to nab persons harassing women at public places, who were present there in plainclothes caught the duo. The two employees G. Manoj, 46 and Shaik Wajid, 26, sat on either side of woman at the bus-stop and were making objectionable comments.

“Our SHE team members watched them from a distance for some time and caught the duo as it harassed the woman,” the Cyberabad ACP T. Usha Rani told The Hindu. The two accused were working as mechanics in Miyapur RTC depot.

The ACP said that family members of the two persons would be summoned to police station and they would be counselled before them. In the past one month, more than 15 middle-aged men were caught on similar charge.
