The launch of ABCs of Brain Compatible Learning by Anjum Babukhan, an educationist, on Friday evening here led to an animated discussion on the state of education and learning methodology being followed in the country.

“We have engineers and postgraduates working with us, but sadly they don’t know how the world works. We have to make them unlearn to make them learn,” said Mr. Rajamouli, sharing the challenges he faces while making his movies.

This was Mr. Rajamouli’s first appearance in a long time at a public event as he is busy shooting the second part of Baahubali .

Dissecting the education system, Ajit Rangnekar, former dean of Indian School of Business said: “In the 60s and 70s, we had five IITs, now we have about 10 or 15 while the population has quadrupled. That’s why there is so much premium to learn quickly that in the process critical, analytical and thinking ability are lost by our children and it has become a big concern for us.”
