Tata Power solar plant commissioned

15 mw solar plant at Bellampalli synchronised

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) on Thursday announced synchronisation of its 15 MW solar plant at Bellampalli in Telangana and thereby beginning of the commercial operations.

The wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power had won the project in the Phase-1 bidding process in Telangana.

The “commissioning is in keeping with the conditions and time lines in the Power Purchase Agreement. With this, Tata Power’s total installed operating capacity crossed 10,500 MW mark,” a release said.

The solar plant has been built over 80 acres and includes an 18 km transmission line.

Sale of power from the plant has been tied up under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd at a tariff of ₹5.72.

Chief executive officer of TPREL Rahul Shah thanked the Telangana government and the nodal agencies for their support in the development of the project.
