Union Minister for Defence Manohar Parrikar on Saturday complimented the Government of Telangana for creating the largest incubator in the country and appreciated the impact of T-Hub.

He went around T-Hub facility in between his busy schedule in the city and spoke to the technocrats gathered there. He underlined the importance of start-up ecosystem and said new ideas would emerge from such initiatives.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Parrikar said: With technology you can make a difference. When I ventured into politics, I realised my engineering background and technological knowledge could be used to help the State. We need to create confidence among people that politicians are also good. Ultimately, politics will deliver.

“Introducing technology is simply the best effort made by me. In 2002, I took the bold initiative of introducing a new technology for sewage treatment in India. The second initiative was garbage treatment as tonnes of garbage is dumped everyday. We opened a plant in Goa which cleared the garbage in the area completely. Technology can be a solution to many requirements of our country,” Mr. Parrikar told them explaining how technology helped.

Telangana Minister for Industries and IT K. Taraka Rama Rao, IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, T-Hub CEO Jay Krishnan and T-Hub Founder and COO Srinivas Kollipara were present on the occasion. Three start-ups from T-Hub -- Banyan Nation, Graphene and Bodhaguru -- presented their start-ups and ideas to the Defence Minister. Mr. Parrikar had engaging conversations with them as he enquired about their start-ups.
