The three-day national executive committee meeting of the BJP beginning in Bangalore on April 2 will discuss among other things strengthening of the party in Telangana. Later a conference of the southern states will be held where also improving of the BJP base in Telangana will be deliberated upon.
Party Telangana president G. Kishan Reddy told mediapersons here on Tuesday that a road map to strengthen the party in Telangana by 2019 elections would be prepared. Both short term and long term plans with clear cut schedules up to December 2015 and December 2018 would be worked out.
Till date the BJP membership drive had touched 8.80 crore and the target was to take it to 10 crore. Already the party had emerged as the largest political party in the world with so many members. It should be a matter of pride for all Indians, Mr. Reddy said.

He said that after the Bangalore meeting nationwide training programme would be organised for the newly enrolled members.
Referring to the GHMC election, Mr. Reddy criticised the TRS Government for seeking time of 249 days to hold the polls. This clearly showed the political bankruptcy of the Government. So much time was not required for delimitation of the wards. Development works in the city had come to a standstill with the entire civic body staff engaged in property tax collection.
"The BJP will emerge victorious even if TRS contested the polls in alliance with the MIM" , Mr. Reddy asserted and pointed out how in the recent MLC elections the BJP had bagged first priority votes in three districts.

The BJP leader criticised the move to levy entry tax on vehicles from April 1 and said this would lead to rise in tariffs. Hyderabad was the common capital for both AP and Telangana and such a tax would burden the people. Government should have convened an all-party meeting before taking the unilateral decision, Mr. Reddy said.
He also faulted Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for hiking the power tariff while calling Telangana a revenue surplus state.
