OUTA defers its boycott threat

The Osmania University Teachers' Association (OUTA) has decided to defer their decision to boycott the PG entrance examinations starting on Monday.

The OUTA president, B. Satyanarayana said the decision was taken after the Vice-Chancellor, T. Tirupati Rao, gave a written assurance that the process of implementing the UGC revised pay scales will be completed by June 21.

“In view of the written assurance given by the Vice-Chancellor, OUTA Executive Council has decided to participate in the smooth conduct of the PG entrance examinations. However, the boycott of PG valuation work will continue till the payment of revised pay scales,” Mr. Satyanarayana said.

The OUTA will decide its further course of action on June 22 , he said and demanded that the Vice-Chancellor should keep his promise.
