The State government had carved out new districts for taking administration to the doorstep of the people. But, the physically-challenged persons have been facing lot of problems in securing the Software assessment of disabled for access rehabilitation and empowerment (Sadarem) certificates to secure pensions and other benefits from the government. Following the formation of Peddapalli, Jagtial and Rajanna-Sircilla districts, people living in these districts are unable to get the Sadarem certificates as the government is yet to give them permission and necessary software and computers to conduct assessment of disabled persons and issue certificates.
Earlier, the Sadarem camps were conducted at the Government headquarters hospital in Karimagar town. After the division of the districts, people living in the residual districts were denied of issuance of certificates in Karimnagar and they were informed to visit the respective districts.
An employee manning the Sadarem camp at the Karimnagar headquarters hospital said that the software was not accepting the application forms of people from the newly formed districts. He also said the panel of doctors from Karimnagar district cannot conduct the assessment of the applicant as they fall under the jurisdiction of other districts. In the new districts, the authorities were asking them to wait for some more time as the government had not provided them with software, infrastructure and other facilities. An official of Peddapalli district said that they had written to the State government requesting to start the SADAREM camps in the new districts by providing computers, software, etc. “We are yet to receive the nod from the government to start the camps in new districts. However, we are taking all measures to ensure that the assessment of the disabled pensioners was conducted at the earliest and avoid stoppage of Asara pension,” he maintained.
