Man jailed for drunken driving

A mini-bus driver caught driving in an inebriated condition the previous day was sentenced to a day’s jail term by a local court here on Tuesday.

The driver, Kittu Reddy (28), was flagged down at Punjagutta junction as the police noticed his vehicle moving in a zigzag manner on Monday night.

A breath analyser test showed that the driver had a 208 mg blood alcohol content for 100 ml of blood, while the permitted limit was 30 mg BAC, said Inspector G. Ranaveer Reddy.

He was produced before the magistrate on Tuesday and was given a day’s jail term. Reddy was sent to Chanchalguda prison.
