Kavitha shops handloom sarees worth ₹40,000

Appreciation: Member of Parliament from Nizamabad K. Kavitha appreciating a handloom saree at a counter selling handloom clothes on Legislative Assembly premises in Hyderabad on Friday.

HYDERABAD: Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha shopped handloom sarees costing Rs 43,186 when she visited the Telangana Assembly on Friday to extend birthday greetings to Deputy Speaker M. Padma Devender Reddy.

After the cake cutting in the chambers of Speaker S. Madhusudanachary, the MP and women leaders of TRS visited the stall of Telangana State Cooperative Society of Handloom Weavers in the Assembly lobbies where they were presented Gadwal and Pochampalli sarees in different colours.

Ms. Kavitha gifted a saree of green shade which was to the liking of Ms. Devender Reddy. She also purchased sarees for herself, her mother, TRS MLA B. Sobha, Karimnagar Zilla Parishad chairperson Tula Uma and another leader Satyavathi Rathod.

The MP went digital to make the payment as she handed over her debit card across the sales counter. Earlier, several MLAs and TRS leaders were present in the Speaker’s chambers when Ms. Devender Reddy cut the cake and shared it with others.
