IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao called on noted economist and retired IAS officer B.P.R. Vittal on Wednesday to seek his views and suggestions on development of Telangana post-bifurcation. Mr. Vittal’s book ‘Telanga Surplus – A case study’ exposed the exploitation of Telangana region and became a constant reference point for several leaders like Jayashankar and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao during their agitation for separate Telangana, said Mr. Rama Rao during his interaction with the nonagenarian.

Expressing his admiration for the veteran economist and for his active daily routine of writing and reading at his age, the Minister said the young generation should emulate his lifestyle. Mr. Vittal, who was happy with the Minister’s visit, recollected his association with late Jayashankar and heard with great interest various schemes of the government and felt that the State was going forward in the right direction. Giving various suggestions on reorganisation of districts, he said small districts would facilitate efficient administration and help people in addressing their concerns.

Mr. Rama Rao said he would take the valuable feedback for better governance to the notice of the Chief Minister.
