Inter exam centre info on your mobile

BIE geo-tags all 1,291 exam centres

Problems in locating the examination centre even if it’s in a little known locality would be a thing of the past for parents and students, who are appearing for Intermediate public examinations commencing on March 1, with Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TS-BIE) launching an Android-based mobile application for the purpose.

The mobile app was launched by Special Chief Secretary (Education) Ranjeev R. Acharya and BIE Secretary Ashok here on Monday.

“The IT initiative will enable the students easily identify their examination centre details and also get online route navigation through the mobile app designed for the purpose,” Ms. Acharya said while explaining the features of the mobile app.

She stated that the app could be downloaded from the Google Playstore on all Android-based mobile phones with net connectivity. The students just have to enter their hall-ticket number and click on the search button in the app, she explained.

The information that would be displayed includes the examination centre code, student name, centre’s address and through Google Maps the distance of the centre from the location of the student could be known instantly along with along with approximate time required to reach the centre.

The BIE had geo-tagged all its 1,291 examination centres to help nearly 9.77 lakh students.
