July 24, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - Hyderabad:

Future-ready security features have been incorporated by the Hyderabad Metro Rail into its structures at the design stage itself, according to HMRL managing director N.V.S. Reddy. The capacity to reject any possible outside interference into the wireless signalling and telecom network, provision of high redundancies, a powerful network of CCTV cameras covering all vulnerable spots of the Metro system, and installation of ACIDS (access control and intrusion detection system) figure in the list of security features. Mr. Reddy was delivering the valedictory address at a national workshop on ‘individual and infrastructure security’ here on Saturday. A HMRL release said he also elaborated on how Telangana government is building a state-of-the-art police command and control centre and citywide surveillance network to make Hyderabad a safe city and destination for attracting global investments and talent. Senior police officers, security experts and scientists from defence, National Police Academy, ECIL, IIIT-Hyderabad and research and development institutions participated in the workshop.
