Clean-up of Hussainsagar and improving the condition of city roads topped the list of issues that were discussed at a review meeting held at GHMC on Thursday.
The four-hour meeting was attended by Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K.T. Rama Rao, GHMC Mayor B. Rammohan and Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy. The Minister reviewed the condition of the roads in the city while he asked the officials to speed up the process of cleaning up the Hussainsagar lake.
The Minister stressed on the need for proper coordination between various State departments to successfully implement the initiative.

The Mayor replied that cleaning Hussainsagar was being given top priority and that pollution was in control as per the survey done by the EPTRI. He further said that all arrangements were being planned for the ensuing Ganesh festival to control pollution.
The Mayor added that potholes in the GHMC limits would be filled in a phased manner by deploying road doctor and instant repairing teams. He informed that road repair works in future would be taken up late nights so as to not cause obstruction to the traffic flow.
During the course of the meeting, the Minister also directed the Housing officials to allot houses to beneficiaries, who have paid the amount with regard to JNNURM and VAMBEY Housing Scheme, before the Dussehra festival.
