Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday urged students in the State not to lose precious time of their lives just to satisfy their parents. “You have to like what you are doing. And if you do not enjoy what you do, then you are simply trying to satisfy your parents,” Mr. Reddy said.
Speaking at the fourth foundation day celebrations of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS), Hyderabad campus, here, the Chief Minister reminded students on the significance of bouncing back strongly after failure.
“The more you fail the more you have to motivate yourself and comeback harder to achieve success. From a young age, students should have clarity of thought and a fair idea of what they want to do in life. The choice of taking a call on the future should be left to the student,” Mr. Reddy said.

Stressing on the importance of education, Chief Minister said education brings parity and helps in distribution of wealth properly in society. “That's why we are spending Rs. 3,400 crore to educate 26 lakh students from the weaker sections. Education will give them the strength to rise in society,” he said.
‘Dream big'
Founder Chairman of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories K. Anji Reddy, who was felicitated by the Chief Minister on the occasion, said students should inculcate the habit of dreaming big.

“I urge students not to be diffident. The future belongs to the younger generation. Institutions like BITS will provide you with skills that will help you build a prosperous country in the future,” Dr. Reddy said.
