It was a contest organised to exhibit their skills. Looping, rapping and scratching the disc, disc-jockey's (DJ's) set in a pulsating mood and made the visitors tap their feet at the Hyderabad Central mall on Saturday.

The contest was organised as part of the Youthopia celebrations and 12 finalists were short-listed from 100 DJ's to contest in the “War of DJ's” event.

It was not easy for the contestants as they were scrutinised for various skills, including running mixes, live remixes, crowd reaction, effects, track selection etc. Each DJ was given one minute to select a track and ten minutes to exhibit their talent in disc-jockeying.

“It's a good programme for youngsters like me. Besides helping in exhibiting my talent, it also helps in introducing the Hyderabadi flavour like teen maar into disc-jockeying,” said Abhijit, a contestant.

DJ Zain was declared winner while DJ Balu was the runner-up. The winner got a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 and the runner up - Rs. 5,000. DJ's Piyush and Kanna were judges.
