Congress told to clear its stand on ‘T’ first

YSRC leaders accuse the Congress party of skirting the issue all these years, and said that all-party meeting should be convened only after the ruling party announced its stand

The YSR Congress leaders have demanded the Congress party to first spell out its stand on Telangana issue and then elicit the views of the other parties.

YSRC leaders Konatala Ramakrishna and Bajireddy Goverdhan on Wednesday have urged all opposition parties to ask in unison and force the ruling party to declare its policy on the issue. Accusing the Congress party of skirting the issue all these years, they said the all-party meeting should be convened only after the ruling party announced its stand.

Referring to the all-party meetings held on two occasions earlier, he said, while some parties made a U-turn, the Congress did not speak its mind and merely left the matter to the High Command.

Hitting hit out at TRS president K. Chandrasekahar Rao, they accused him of adopting double standards. On the one hand he has been describing the all-party meeting as a farce and on the other has been asking other parties to declare whether they were in favour of Telangana or not.

They said the names of the party representatives to attend the all-party meeting slated for December 28 will be finalised on Thursday.
