City drenched in Eid spirit

Devotees pray for victims of Iraq war at all places. A significant feature of the year’s festivities was special mention made of the victims of Palestine conflict during ‘dua’ prayer at all places.

The twin cities was drenched in a festive spirit amid the cloudy sky as Muslims observed ‘Eid-ul-Fitr’ or ‘Eid’ as a celebration to mark the end of Ramzan or the holy month of fasting on Tuesday.

Mulims, most of them in the traditional whites and caps, came out for the prayers and congregated mainly at the Idgah Mir Alam.

Eid prayers were also held at Idgah Qutb Shahi Tombs, Nizam College grounds, Idgah Madannapet, Idgah Sanathnagar, Mecca Masjid and other places.

A significant feature of the year’s festivities was special mention made of the victims of Palestine conflict during ‘dua’ prayer at all places. 

Though the prayers were being offered at the Nizam College for the first time, the response was encouraging.

There were reports of celebrations from Chevella and Tandur with local Idgahs filled to the brim with the people offering special prayers. 

Special bus services

While the RTC ran special services towards many prayer grounds, the civic departments, including the GHMC and Water Board made necessary arrangements and the police personnel maintained a strict vigil.

Delicacies

After the prayers, devotees greeted their relatives, friends and neighbours as ‘biryani’ and ‘sheerkurma’ was shared and relished.
