Ban acquisition of fertile lands, says Lok Satta

Lok Satta Party has demanded the government to ban acquisition of double crop land for setting up thermal power plants, special economic zones and industries.

Briefing media about the decisions of the party's State Working Committee during its two-day deliberations, Bhisetty Babji, V.Laxman Balaji said here on Thursday that the party wanted the government to abandon its bid to promote a thermal power plant at Sompeta and return the land acquired from farmers.
