HYDERABAD: A Division Bench of the Hyderabad High Court comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Shameem Akther on Monday directed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to depute its representative to Hyderabad to monitor the conduct of the Bangladesh-India Test match to begin here on February 9.

Till the committee was appointed, BCCI general manager (Administration and Game Development) Ratnakar Shetty, who is already here, shall supervise the Test match arrangements, with the committee elected in 2014 assisting him.

The High Court Bench was passing the interim orders in a writ petition filed by Govind Reddy, advocate and cricket player, seeking appointment of administrators to oversee the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s functioning. It confined the interim orders to the issue of the present Test match.

All revenues received from various sources shall be deposited in entirety by HCA in its bank account. The money shall be spent for the Test match only after the written permission from the BCCI’s observer.

The court said that the BCCI shall also appoint a financial advisor to assist the BCCI observer.

This is to ensure proper maintenance of records for the amounts received and spent by the Hyderabad Cricket Association. All these are done to see that the match is properly conducted. By next date of hearing a report shall be submitted to the court.

The Bench said the replacement of office-bearers elected in 2014 would now result in confusion on the eve of the match. They shall assist the BCCI. It is open for the BCCI to act against the present or former office-bearers of HCA. The case was listed for February 27.
