All beedi workers to get pensions: KCR

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday tried to placate the disappointed beedi workers assuring that every eligible person would get the Aasara pension.

Mr. Rao, who was in Raikal mandal headquarters to inaugurate the Trust building of Chinna Jeeyar Swamy and lay the foundation stone for auditorium said: “There should not be any misgivings among you that pensions will not be given. The last eligible person will get pension.”

He said that left over persons would be identified in the next 15 days. “I promise that the beedi workers will get their pensions from this month itself,” he said pointing out that those who had not applied should approach the revenue officials.

The Chief Minister said that his Government would allocate Rs.15,000 crore for improving road network in the entire State. Speaking about Mission Kakatiya, he sought the participation of everybody. “If you all participate in mission mode, one rainfall is enough to prevent drought for three years,” he remarked.

Mr. Rao later unveiled the statue of tribal martyr Komuram Bheem. Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram and State Tribal Welfare Minister A. Chandulal were present.
