90% miners report for duty

The management of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) on Tuesday stated that the attendance of workers had reached 90% as 21,090 miners reported for duties in the first shift on Tuesday against 23,361 on June 14, a day before the commence of the strike call given by some trade unions.

Officials of the coal company stated that the average production of coal during the first five days of strike was 11% higher than the daily average production before the strike. Similarly, the average daily dispatches of coal during the strike period was 7% higher than the period before the strike.
