Nine kilograms of gold apparently being smuggled from abroad to India was recovered from a SpiceJet flight at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad here by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officials on Wednesday.
The flight (SG239) was earlier on international sector (flight no SG16) from Dubai to Ahmedabad, they said in a press release.
Following an input, the DRI sleuths thoroughly examined the entire flight which flew into Shamshabad from New Delhi.

They found 9 kg. gold concealed behind the pushback cushion of two seats of the aircraft. The seized gold was valued at Rs. 2.39 crore.
