The Telangana Government will invest as much as ₹ 300 crore in the second phase of T-Hub which will make it the world’s largest incubation centre, said Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Information Technology, Electronic and Communications Department

Mr Ranjan was speaking at the National Startup Conclave HSX – 2019 at IIIT - Hyderabad on Sunday where he said the second phase of T-Hub would be five times bigger.

The Telangana Government, he said, was contemplating setting up a separate fund to support start-ups. “We are planning on it as it is one of the criteria for the Union Government to rank states on start-up ecosystem,” he said.

Speaking of the T-Bridge initiative, Mr Ranjan said it connected the country’s start-up ecosystem to the world and gave start-ups global exposure. As many as 100 start-ups had received global exposure so far.

Mr Ranjan pointed out that if start-ups had products or services which were in line with the government’s requirements, it would procure them.

In the past four years, over three dozen products and services had been procured by government agencies and more were under evaluation. The government was now evaluating 15 to 20 products and services for procurement.
