The police were informed around 8.30 p.m. regarding a scuffle in a Patel Nagar park. When they reached the spot, they were told that a scuffle had broken out between two groups of men and a few people were stabbed in the incident. The injured had been taken to B.L.K. Hospital where Shubham was declared brought dead.

Investigation revealed that Shubham’s friend Lokesh was in a relationship with a girl who had decided to end the relationship a few months ago. “After they broke up, the girl became friends with another boy. There have been arguments and fights between Lokesh and the boy,” the officer said.

On Tuesday, Lokesh and the boy decided to settle the matter and meet near a park in Patel Nagar. Lokesh’s friends, including Shubham, had accompanied him. The boy had also come along with a few men. “The two sides had an argument, which turned violent. Lokesh, Shubham and one of their friends were stabbed. Shubham’s injury was fatal. The other two are currently out of danger,” the officer said.
