Sanjeev, an Aam Aadmi Party volunteer, said that his party members protested outside the police station as the police were reluctant to register the case initially.

“Following their escape, they hired an auto-rickshaw and their initial plan was to return to their native place. But when the driver of the vehicle, an AAP volunteer, saw them crying he asked them what the matter was and they narrated the incident to him and he made a call to the party’s control room in the area,” said Sanjeev.

In her complaint, the victim told the police that she and her husband had come to Delhi two days ago where they met two men Digambar and Ravi who assured them of help to get a house on rent and took them to a room in Mustafabad.

The two men then locked the two in separate rooms and while they bashed up the woman’s husband, they also took turns to rape her. This continued for over two days till Wednesday morning when Ravi and Digambar let them go.
