Woman shot at for rejecting proposal

A man shot at a woman before committing suicide in New Industrial Township here on Sunday after the victim and her family rejected his marriage proposal.

The woman, who sustained serious injuries, is said to be stable now.

The police said that the accused Lokesh, a resident of Parvitia Colony, was friends with the woman who works in a finance company. He had recently proposed the woman and was rejected.

Following this the two were not in touch until two months ago, when Lokesh took an appointment reached her office in Faridabad with two of his friends to procure a loan for them, said ACP, NIT, Jai Prakash.

The woman met his friends, after which they left. Following this Lokesh had an altercation with her and he allegedly shot at the woman and then himself.

Lokesh was declared brought at B.K. Hospital.
