Chief Minister launches four-month-long campaign

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday kicked-off the Aam Aadmi Party’s door-to-door campaign for 2019 Lok Sabha elections to receive feedback and seek financial support from Delhiites.

While Mr. Kejriwal launched the four-month-long campaign in the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, other Ministers, MPs and MLAs led the drive in their respective constituencies.

“We are launching the door-to-door campaign in Delhi from today [Sunday]. For the next four months, our teams will knock on every door to seek their cooperation and financial support for the AAP. People of Delhi are very happy with the work of the Delhi government, particularly in the fields of education, health, electricity and water,” said Mr. Kejriwal.

He said that he was “pleasantly surprised” with the response that he got from the houses he visited.

In his interactions, he told voters that the AAP contests elections on funds collected from the common man and not the corporates. The CM asked voters to donate so that the work that the party had done could continue.

‘People misled’

Mr. Kejriwal said they would convince the people of Delhi to vote for the AAP in the Lok Sabha elections.

“We will tell the people to not be misled by the false narrative of who will be the Prime Minister and keep the 2014 experience in mind. You [Delhiites] elected BJP MPs to all seven seats and what did you get in return? Did these seven MPs do anything? Is there a single work done by them that you can recall?” he said.

The only thing these seven MPs did during their tenure was obstruct the pro-people steps being taken by the Delhi government,” said Mr. Kejriwal,

“They created hurdles in the installation of CCTVs and setting-up of Mohalla Clinics through their Centre-appointed L-G,” said the CM.
