The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory recommending use of public transport to avoid traffic congestion on Sunday.
“The BJP rally will be held on Sunday at Japanese Park, Rohini, at 10 a.m.. It is expected to witness huge crowds with Narendra Modi and other senior leaders of the BJP taking the stage…The public is advised to avoid places in the vicinity of the Japanese Park, Dr. K.N. Katzu Marg, Outer Ring Road from Peera Garhi flyover to Mukarba flyover,” the advisory said.
It said participants should avoid private vehicles and use Delhi Metro till the Rithala metro station, which is very close to the venue.

“Congestion is expected in and around the venue. Vehicles are instructed to follow directions of the Traffic Police officers posted on the routes of the rally,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Shukla.
Elaborate traffic arrangements have been made. More than 1,000 buses and 3,000 passenger vehicles are expected to come for the rally from Delhi and outside, police said.
“No vehicle will be allowed to park on the arterial roads in and around the venue and heavy penalty will be imposed on defaulters. Also no buses will be allowed to be halted/parked on the peripheral roads adjoining the venue.” said Shukla. – PTI

The Delhi BJP has asked the Delhi Metro to provide adequate travel arrangement for people attending the rally on Sunday. Rally committee convenor and former Delhi BJP chief Vijender Gupta said the Delhi Metro which generally runs with 50 per cent train strength will be running all its trains on Dilshad Garden- Rithala route.
“Also the frequency of trains has been reduced from five minutes to 3-3.5 minutes. For the first time, metro would be selling group return tickets,” said Mr. Gupta. Feeder buses will be deployed to carry people from metro station to the venue and vice versa.
After the rally ends, the Delhi Metro will make five trains ready for departure at the Rithala West station for fast movement of crowd, he said.
